Tencent is one of the world's leading Internet companies, based in China, and our QQ Games team is based here in sunny Redwood City, California. In China, Tencent is best known for building a massive Internet community around our instant messaging platform, "QQ." With over 270 million active accounts as of the end of June 2007, QQ may be one of the world's largest Internet platforms. Our QQ Games service in China is also really massive, with over 3 million "peak simultaneous users"-that is, people playing our QQ Games service together at the same time!
We're starting from scratch here in the U.S., and were excited to introduce QQ Games, a new breed of "massive multiplayer casual gaming!"
We find that Internet users around the world really like to jump into an online game room of players, and play head to head with old and new friends. It's exciting if you win, and exciting if you loose too, because you always know that you are playing directly against someone else.
